You may pay for your registration or materials fee by one of the following:

  • Stop by The FCC during normal business hours M-F 9-4 ( Suggested to call to ensure someone will be there)
  • Send a check made payable to:The Friendly Community Center PO Box 604 Mountainhome PA 18342
    • Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

• Please do not register for more programs than you plan to attend. If you are unable to attend a session, please notify the instructor in advance or call The FCC.
• If membership fees and/or materials fees are required to participate in a program, fees must be paid before registration is considered complete.
• Some programs and events have maximum group sizes so you might receive a pending approval message at the time of registration. Look for a follow-up email to confirm your registration.
• The Friendly Community Center reserves the right to cancel a program due to insufficient enrollment.
• All programs are held at The Friendly Community Center unless otherwise noted.

If you enjoy birds, join Darryl & Jackie Speicher of Pocono Avian Research Center for monthly meetings of the BBC at The FCC. Meetings will include informational programs, discussion of birds and seasonal birding opportunities, including walks and other birding activities throughout the year.

Try a dance class designed to benefit members of the Parkinson’s community, as well as those with arthritis, trouble with balance, and other movement issues. Gentle dance, rhythm, and stretching movements improve flexibility and focus attention on eyes, ears, and touch as tools to assist in movement and balance.

An Experienced counselor will  answer questions and  help you to understand your existing Medicare plan. Receive objective information about Medicare Supplemental and Advantage plans, prescription drug plans, and eligibility to get extra help with medical insurance costs.

This program is recommended for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, any type of the dementia or mild cognitive impairment. One can enjoy an afternoon of shared activities with their caregiver. Activities include games, educational programs, music, art and other shared experiences. This program also offers support to caregivers and a way to enjoy activities together as a break from the normal routine.  This program is offered to persons still living at home and their caregivers.

Become more sure-footed and steady on your feet! We will work on posture, walking gait, alignment, strength, symmetry and visually grounding ourselves.  Better balance reduces falls and injuries during daily living.

Tone, sculpt and strengthen your entire body with isometric movements and light weights during a low impact workout. Barre classes mix elements of Pilates, dance and yoga which are choreographed to motivating music. Modifications may be made to accommodate your individual fitness needs.
